GENERAL JOFFRE-S WARNING London, October 12. General Joffre, French Commander-in-Chief, has circularised the Prefects in. the war zone, laying stress on the neglect "of harvest operations. He says he has Seen struck by the numbers of strong men, from 36 years of age, chattering and loitering in the villages whilst a considerable quantity of crops remain urigarnered. It is not admissible that .foodstuffs, needed for the continuation of the war, should bo allowed to rot in the fields.—("Times" and Sydney "San" Services.)
