At. the wool sale 3 the following prices were-realised for New Zealand clips:"Walter Peak," top price, 23Jd., average, 23d.; "Manawa," 13d. and 12Jd.; "Ord" 15J-d.- and 14 3-Bd.; "Two Hearts," 12d. and During the series 37,329 bales were catalogued &nd 34,081 sold ;• 8829 • bales were offered on. Saturday, of which 4127 were Now.-Zealand. The sale closed with the highest prices of the/series. There was increasingly strong .competition on ac-count-of Home manufacturers. All c'rossbreds showed . a decisive ■■ advance upon opening rates. Shafty merinos were slightly harder, but short.-faulty, wastv, and fineiaired wools felt the lack of Continental support, and showed a 10 to 15 per centum decjine as compared with July prices. PRIVATE REPORTS, Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., have rocoiTed the following cablegram from their London , office, dated September 10:—"The wool-sales closed very firm. Compared mth:.bpening rates, good sliafty merinos ero..iather dearer, other sorts i unchanged. We-quote 64 s tops c'ostmg approximately The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have received'the following, cablegram from London, under date-October 10:-"Wool sales closed strong. Merino super, medium, 7j to 10 per cent, inferior 10 to 15 per cent, lower than July... .Crossbred, f>ne, 5 to 7J per cent medium and coarse greasy, 10 to 15 per ■cent.* ■SCO-mod 15 per. cent., slipe 20 per cent., tombs 25 per cent, higher." _ The' Bank of New Zealand has received the following cable advice from its Lon-don.-office, dated October 10:-"The sales close, very firm for crossbred wool. There is np,Ncw Zealand wool held over." Messrs. Murray. Roberts and Co.; Ltd yesterday received a, cablegram from their London friends, Messrs. Sanderson, Mur-' ray and Co., dated October 10, as follows: — Sales closed very firm, all descriptions show.an advanco on opening rates." The. New Zealand Loan: and Mercantile Agency-Company. ATJSTSALIAN WOOL SALES.' By Telegraph— Press Association- Copyright London, October 11. The -wool brokers have decided to tcsume. Sales will be Hold in Sydney on the 20th, Melbourne 26,. Geelong October 28th, and Brisbano November 4. Only limited quantities will be offered. WHEAT AND FLOUR. London, October 11. The wheat market is firmer on account ol an improvement in American supplies. The demand is slow. Holders ask 425. 6d. The wheat and Hour afloat for the United Kingdom iotftls 1,985,000 quarters; for tlio Continent, '1,765,000 quarters; Atlantic shipments, -838,000 quarters; Pacific, 65,000 quarters. The total shipments to Europe during the week amounted to 1,150,000 quarters, including 91,000 from India, and 14,000 from sundry sources. METAL QUOTATIONS. London, Octobor 11. Straits tin, cash, £131 per ton. Copper.—Electrolytic, £53 lEs. to £54. Tin plates—l.o. coke, 12a- 9d. per cwt.; 1.0. charcoal, 13s. 9d. Galvanised iron .first brands, £18 10s.; 6econd, £16 10s.
