If wo aro to disappear from tho map as a nation wo shall he brave to tho very last, and die, but never bo slaves! "Evory available man under 50 is doing his duty, and if this should bo tho last letter you receivo from us, wo hope you will always keep a kind and pleasant remembrance of us. "As business has totally stopped, wo do not feel inclined to write sjjout commercial matters. Pray God that wo nro successful in our defensive work, and, if so, and the Germans aro wiped off tho earth, it will bo the better for all.
