The Bishop of Wellington (Dr. Sprqtt) will visit Pohangina next month (states our Palmerston correspondent) to conseorate the Anglican portion of the newly-planned cemetery.

Sir Douglas Mawson will arrive in Wellington from the- Bouth by the Monowai this morning.

. Lieut.-Commandor Dennistoun.E.N., naval transport officer on the Tahiti, will arrive in Wellington from the south this morning.

A Sydney Press Association message states that the Rev. Mr. Hammond, who is to participate, in the New Zealand Prohibition campaign, is" a passenger to Auckland by the Marama.

A Press Association- telegram from Auckland announces v the death of ' the Rev. Father Thomas- Kehoe, of Tuakau, at the age of seventy-four. The deceased, who was a native of Wexford, Ireland, was_ educated at St. Peter's College, in his native county, and was ordained a priest in 1871. He arrived in New Zealand four years later, and was stationed at Cromwell, Riverton, To Aroha, and Tauranga, before going to Tuakau.

The death is announced of Mr. Henare' Petri Parata, associate of Chief Judge Jackson Palmer, of the Native Land Court, who died suddenly iu Auckland. According to a Press Association telegram from Auckland, ho collapsed on the footpath in Queen Street, and a medical man who was immediately summoned pronounced life to be ! oxtiiict. Tho deceased, who was 24 years of age, was a son of Mr. Henare Parata, of "Wellington (late of Greytown), a grandson of tho Hon. T. Parata, M.L.C., and a nephew of Mr. C. R. Parata, M.P. He was born at Waikouaiti, Otago, was educated at the Native College at Clareville, Wairarapa, and entered the Civil Service when ho had completed his education. Before being associated with Ohiet Judge Palmer, he was clerk to Judge Gilfcdder. He loaves a widow but no children.

Mr. H. Carlyon, a Hawko's Bay runholder, has sold up his interests in New Zealand, and intends to leave shortly for England, whero ho is to tako up the duties of his brothers and other malo relatives, who have gono to the trout, in tho management of tho family estates. Ten of the Carlyons are on activo service.
