SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications. are for high westerly wind, changing to south-westerly everywhere shortly; squally and changeable weather, with heavy showers in most parts of tho country, and colder conditions, following. The barometer should soon riwe everywhere. A westerly storm area passed in the south on Saturday, heavy westerly gales prevailing in Oook Strait and over tho South Islaud, changing to south-westerly in many parts. Considerable rain has fallen in all the western districts, and also in tho southern portion of the South Island. Tho winds decreased generally on Sunday, but gales have been reported at various stations again to-day for another etorm centre now developing in the south. D. 0. BATES.
