GERMAN LINER BEACHED
. INTHE PHILIPPINES.. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Dunedin, October 7. A former resident of Dunedin, writing to a relative under date September 7, from Iloilo/ Philippine Mauds, says the North German mailboat Prinzess Alice, from Europe, via Suez, to tho Par East, switched off to Manila for safety, and cleared afterwards for Shanghai'. Later she was seen steaming in the direction of German New Guinea, and Bubseqiiently turned up at Zamboanga, Philippine islands, with a hole in her. She then went to Copu, whero she-is resting on a sandy beach, while" being patched up. The writer does not mention how the vessel was damaged.
