■' WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION

Tliefirst meeting of Hie Management Committee of tho Wellington Cricket Association was held last evening. Present: Messrs. C. G. Wilson (chair), W. b. Bnce, J. Panning, A. IS. Wilson, H. E. Burton, M. J. Crombie, P. M. Martin, P. A. Midlano, and E. M. Beechey. Mr. C. G. Wilson was elected chairman for the year. It was decided to play the third-class championship in two divisions, city and suburban, the leading team in the city division to meet the leading suburban team in the final—a two days' match. The applications of the Marist Brothers' Old Boys' and the Upper Hutt Clubs for affiliation wore- accepted, the former entering teams for the junior and third-class championships, and the. latter for the third-class. It was decided to endeavour to arrange a match between an association team and an eleven from the Expeditionary Forco on Wednesday, October 14. His Excellency the Governor to bo asked l to captain the former and General Gqdley the latter, and the proceeds to bo in aid of. tho- Groat Britain and Ireland and Belgium Relief Fund. Au application from tho Public Schools' Association for wickets on the Basin Reserve was roforred to the Grounds Committee. The following committees wore- appointed"—Grand and Senioi Championship: Messrs. C. G. Wilson, Midlane, and Burton. Junior Championship: Messrs. P. M. Martin, H. Schlaadt, and M. S. Galloway. Third-class Championship: City—Messrs. Stance and Howitt; suburban—Messrs. A. Bennett and R. M'Connell, witn Mr. A. E. Wilson as chairman. Senior Selection Committee: Messrs. W. S. Brice, M. J. Crombie, and F. A. Midlane. It was decided to-open the eeason for practice on Saturday next, and for matches on Saturday week.
