A man named Thomas Tonsley shot his sister, Mrs. Warner, at Marrickville, then visited the railway works at AVhitebay, and attempted to shoot his brother Leslie. A man named Martin interfered, and received a shot. Another shot struck Leslie Tonsley, wounding him dangerously. Tho others are not seriously wounded. Thomas Tonsley has been arrested. Financial worries are believed to have been tho cause of his committing the crime. STRANDED STEAMER. (Rec. October 6, 11.40 p.m.) Sydney, October 6. The stranded steamer Mailoo is breaking up. A VALUABLE PEARL.. Perth, October 6. Tho Fisheries Department report that a hundred-grain pearl; valued at £8000, has been found at Broome. OBITUARY. Hobart, October 6. Obituary.—The Hon. Albert Edgar Solomon, ex-Premier of Tasmania. Mr. Solomon was born at Langford, Tasmania, in 1871. He has been a member of the Legislature since 1909.
