The weather was fine and the attendanoe laTge. The going was good. Tatterley made the pace throughout in the Shorts, but did not last long enough to stall off Gigandra's resolute challenge. Twenty-five faced the gate for the Metropolitan, St. Carwyne end Psyttyx sharing the public fancy. Royal Laddie made the early running, Moonbria showing prominently from the halfmile. . St. Spasa camo with a great run from the bend, beating Psyttyx by a neck. It was an exciting finish. In the Steeplechase, Forest Prince unluckily fell at the first fence.
