INVERCARGILL'S EFFORT. (By ToloeraDh—Press Association) Inveroarglll, October 4. Daffodil Day, which took tho form of an organised effort to raise fluids to supplement tho Belgian Relief Fund, was a great succoss. Two motor processions were held, one in tho afternoon and ono in the evening, when the combined effect of the blazing head-, lights, fluttering flags, the colouring'of. the cars, and the brilliant street lighting produced a uuiquo effect. The street-collections produced about £330, in addition to which a special donation of £50 was received lato in tho evening from Messrs. Kirk and Co. A dolls house, donated by the daughters of Dr. Hogg, was sold four times, and realised £24 10s., while an aged and corpulent bulldog was sold five times, realising £4 15s. Other auctions produced about £10, in. addition to which the proceeds of two picture-houses must be added to that. The fund is likelj to benefit to tho extent of £450 when all the returns, are in.
