A most successful evening was spent in the Ponsonby Hall, Abel Smith Street, last evening, when Miss Howe's pupils tendered her a complimentary social and dance. Mrs. Hairns, of Masterton, recited, and was yery well received. The arrangements were well carried out, and special thanks are due to Mrs. M'Celland and the committee, Misses M'Colland and Messrs. H. W. Grimes, Davics, P. B. Weldon, and Abel. Mr. T. G. Wilkes acted as M.C., and Mr. A, Williams supplied tho music. Mr. J._Maughan Barnett writes:—"! notice in a recent number of The Dominion- a statement to the effect that Mr. Lemare opened the organ in tho Wellington Town Hall. Kindly.permit me to correct this. The. opening reoitals were Riven by me on March 8, 8, and 10, 1906. The Lemare recitals did not commenco until May 22 of the year." . .::
