Timaru, October 2. The Provincial Council of the South Canterbury Licensees, to-day passed resolutions protesting against the Prohibition Party promoting ' internal atrifo during an Empire crisis, arid, recognising the liberality of the Trade towards various Patriotic Funds, regretting that party_ bias had construed Lord Kitchener's injunction to abstain from liquor into an order to practise total abstinence on all occasions,, and warning the public against the assertions'(if a party that has subscribed very little, and could embarrass tho authorities by party warfare and the destruction of a million of revenue in a timo of serious menace.
