"THE LIGHTS 0' LONDON." MacMahon's New Theatre was literally in a stato of siege at all- sessions yesterday by people anxious to see the great filmic adaptation of George JR. Sims's fine drama, "The .Lights, o' London." The film is certainly ono of the most notable- productions of its kind over shown locally. Incidental to the st-ory—one that appeals to all —many London scenes of especial interest ire introduced. HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. A most 'ialented comedienne, in. the person of Miss Rosa Loader, is attracting tlic attention of vaudeville patrons at His Majesty's Theatre,. Courtenay Place, this week. Seated at a, piano, she burlesques opera and music-hall singing in most comical style. Supporting artists include "The Three Lessos" (sharp-sbooters and. jugglers); Tho Quealys (musical comedy act), 'Oanrien and Lawrence, and others. THE KING'S THEATRE. A particularly fine pioture of a Mexican bull fight licads the current programme at the King's Theatre. "England's Menace," a picture drama of an imaginary surprise raid on Eng-. land by a foreign Power; heads tlie programme at present showing at Everybody's Pictures, in tho old Opera House, Manners Street. It is a most interesting and absorbing ' picture drama'. The supporting , films include "'Fraid Oat," ,a' pretty- YitagraplV drama, and some interesting war films.

THE EMPRESS THEATRE. "Josephine," , the Film d'Art Company's Napoleonic drama, is the main attraction of the new programme presented at the Empress Theatre continuous pictures yesterday. Concerts arranged , by tho Scottish folk of Wellington are generally of a high order, and Wednesday's entertainment in the New Century Hall, in aid of the Highland Socioty,. was no exception to tho rulo. The building was well filled, and each item of the excellent programme- was loudly applauded encores being numerous. Songs were contributed by Mesdames D. R. Kennedy and J. B. Martin, Misses Eva Smith and M.'Silver, and Messrs. Hay, Houston, and J. C. Macdonald'. A duet by Master J. M'Lean and Miss R. Beckway was greatly enjoyed, as also were tho dances, reels, Highland flings, Gillie Calum, and sheauhtribhas, ' by Misses Flora Shaw, Lizzie Reid, Jean Jollio, Mary Reid, and Jessie M'Gillivray, and Masters Jack and Harry MacI.ean. Tho bagppipo selections* were likewise, much appreciated. 'At tho conclusion of the concert, tho contributors were accorded a hearty vote of thanks on the motion of tho Hon. J. G. W. Aitken. On Wednesday next tho society is giving a concert in the Harbour Board's U shod for tho members of tho Expeditionary Force.
