SUBURBS RIFLE CLUB

' ANNUAL MEETING. The. annual meeting of . the Suburbs Defonce Riflo Club was held :n the Drill llall ; Buckle Street, last night. . The president, Mr. C. E-. Graham, presided, and there was an attendance of about 30 membors. The. annual report, which was adopted, congratulated the members on the sound position of the club. The financial position was sound, tho assets being £134 16s. lOd. more than the liabilities. Tho ammunition available,, including tho Government, grant, was 12,100 rounds. Tho membership of the club stood at 125, and the club had received instructions from tho area officers to go on enrolling until notified to stop. The thanks of the club were accorded to tho following donors of trophies:—MessrG. J. P. Luke, A. A. George, T. Archibald, A. E. Kernot, S. G.- Ross, W. F. Hornig, A. - Laurenson, H. Seaton, A. J. Gidden, H. T. Pitcher, L. A. Georgo, Witcombe and Pym, F. M'Parland, F. A. Price, D. H. Hunter, T. Coltmau, Etowo and Sowman, J. E. Given, J. G. Jfewton, G. Oliver, A. Britton, J. W. Covernity, W. M. Jackson, Captain Killjoy, Mesdames Luke, 'Newton, and Turner.

A motion, moved by the president, was carried to tho following effect: — "That no member bo allowed' to take part in any competition, after the opening event, till his annual subscription is paid."

Somo discussion took place on the question of handicapping and classes. Finally the motion of Mr. J. L. Turner, "That there be no_ handicapners, ana that the club be divided into three classes; winners of trophies to be penalised," was carried. Details were left to the committee.

Smart; lady vicepresidents, Mesdames T. H. Boss, J. G. Newton, and W. M. Jackson; secretary, Mr. W. G. Fellingham (re-elected); as-sistant-secretaries, Mr. A: It. Brown' (Saturday), Mr. A. Turner. (Wednesday) ; treasurer, Mr. H. A. Snelling (reelected); ammunition officer, Mr. J. L. Turner; auditors, Messrs. W. F. Hornig and J. F. Ross; managing committee, Messrs. J. L. Turner, Oliver, Boon, Hunt, and Stacey.

Tho annual subscription was fixed at Bs.,- members to be supplied with a programme of events.
