THE MORATORIUM
.■ ! SUGGESTED EXTENSION TO SHARE GALLS. A suggestion was made to the Government some days ago by Mr. A. M. Myers, M.P., that'a moratorium should bo declared for tlio payment of calls on shares in limited liability companies. The following reply to the proposal was mado by the Government yesterday:— "The suggestion of the honourable member, if given effect to, might have serious results, inasmuch as a number of mines a.ro being developed by money raised by way of calls on shareholders. An arrangonient such as suggested might probably have the effect of closing some of them down. Tin's would not be a desirable, stato of. tilings to bring about under existing circumstances." The following rearrangement of custodians of the city reserves is to bo effected, on account of the transfer of Mr. A. lirewor from Wakefield Pad; to tlio Basin Reserve Custodian, Basin Reserve, to ICilbirnio Reserve; custodian, Anderson Park to Wakefield Park; assistant at Wakofield Park to Anderson Park.
