SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Present indications aro for moderate to strong southerly win'ds, but more variable brwees prevailing shortly. Thera is a prospect of fair weather generally, but cloudy and misty at time 3 along the eastern coast, especially of the North Island. The barometer has a rising tendency CTorywhcro. A squall area passed in tho south' during Wednesday night, and eome rain haa fallen in the western and southern portions of the South Island. Fair to cloudy and cold weather lias ruled to-day.
