COURTENAY PLACE SUNDAY SCHOOL

i ANNIVERSARY MEETING. On , Tuesday evening the anniversary celebrations of • the Courtenay Place Congregational Church Sunday School were brought to a conclusion. A tea meeting was held at 6 p.m., and then a public meeting followed. The evening opened with a chorus by the children of the Sunday' School, who were assembled on the stage. The secretary of the Sunday School, Mr. Banks, read the annual report and balance-sheet. Mr. Pulswortli, the superintendent, mado some supplementary remarks. Tlie Rev. A. E. Hunt spoke qfc the valuable work performed by the Sunday School. -He said: "Their self-sacrifice is worthy of all praise, and the church owes them a great debt of gratitude." He also urged parents who were present to send their children to tho Sunday morning service, and announced his intention of giving a prizo to the boy or girl who attended most regularly. Jean O'Shearer and Wilfred Lewis gave recitations. Prizes were then present- J ed as follow: —General work: Jcseie | Harper, Irene Little, .Clement Smith, Qeorge Guy, Graco Cameron,' Russell Bennett, Winnio. Happs, Robert 'Murrows, Gwennie Archer, Arthur Brown, Gilbert Gay, Elsie Arthur, Robert Je-. romsy, James Charlton, and Thomas Reynolds. Girls Class: Connie Remington (Ist prize), -Meryl Jones, Dorothy M'Grath, Thora James, Linda Rowntrce, Freda North, Mira Gay, Dorothy Burnett. Boys Prizes: John Longely, Andrew Prague, John Forsytlie, Cyril Day,- Robert Gray, Harley Apps, i Ken. Hassells, David Jones, Leslie Bowden, Jack Cassells. Church Attendances: Linda ' Rowntree, Lucy Henderson, Androw/ Gray, Graham Headland, Leslie Bowden, Jack Lewis. Special prizes were awarded to Freda North and Dorothy Burnett. A gold medal was presented to Charles Parley.
