ADMIRALTY COURT
BLENHEIM-OPAWA. COLLISION.
Hearing of the case commenced before the Admiralty Court in Wellington on Monday was concluded yesterday morning. His Honour Mr. Justice Hosking was on the bench. The case embodied a claimS by tlio owners of the small steamer Blonheiin (Johnston and Co.) against the owner of the steamer Opawa (Captain Eckford) for £92 15s. 10d., as damages done to the Blenheim in a collision with the Opawa, in the Ojpawa River (Marlborough) ( on the night of March 6. During the hearing of the case it appeared that each; party alleged that the mishap was ;due to the other having taken the wrong course. . Mr. T. C A. Hislop appeared for the plaintiffs, and Mr. M. Myers for the defendants. : Further evidence'for the defence was given-by John Knox, mate of the Opawa at tho time of the collision; John Anderson Moycs, engineer, of the Opawa; Thomas Eckford, master mariner, owner of the Opawa; and others. ..The Court reserved decision...
