RESCUE MAN FROM DROWNING.

■V . SKELETON .-IDENTIFIED, The remains of the man found on the hills above Melling railway station on Sunday were identified yesterday by Messrs. W. and D. Taylor, as that .of their father, Fred. R. Taylor, commer* cial traveller, of Nelson Street, Petono, aged- 54, who disappeared on December 10, 1912. The means of identification were a cardigan jacket, spectacles and case, and'false teeth." '.' :-WJ Beale, a-married man with three children, a miner in the > Blackwater mines, was sent down to No. 7 .level to do repairs at , 11 a.m. yesterday. He was missed later, and in the afternoon his body was found in the water at the bottom of the shaft with the neck broken. It is presumed he .slipped down the shaft.
