Though money is generally supposed to be "tight" owing to-the war,, the Finance Committee of the North Canterbury Hospital Board was nit able to find investment in Christchurch for a sum of £600. The report presented by the committee at the last meeting of tho board was as follows:—"Bearing in mind tho recommendation of the board with regard to the investment of trust funds, the committee endeavoured to find satisfactory local investment for £600. Many, inquiries were made and advertisements inserted in the newspapers, but no application was received for tho amount. Consequently the com; mitteo has purchased Wanganui Borough debentures at 5 per cent.
