•—-*■■ » — LUNCHEON IN SYDNEY. : (Rec. September 28, 8.40 p.m.) Sydney, September 28. At the Dominion Day luncheon, Mr. H. Griffiths, Minister for Public Works, Mr. E. D. Milieu, ox-Ministor for Defence, the Consuls of Franco, Belgium, and Japan, and commercial representatives were present. Mr. Griffiths, in referring to New Zealand's initiation of compulsory arbitration in industrial disputes, said the Commonwealth was faced with the same difficulty as the Dominion, and they meant to carry out tho principles of arbitration, or abolish it altogether. Mr.'. W. R. Blow, tho New Zealand Government Agent, quoted statistics showing the phonomonal progress of the. Dominion. The' Frenoh. Consul, speaking on behalf of the Allies, said Germany's recent attempt to captnro New Zealand trade was a move to annihilate British shipping in the Pacific. They all, congratulated New Zealand on her co-oper-ation in the war..
