GERMAN WAR LOAN
GREAT PRESSURE NEEDED TO RAISE IT (Rec. September,. 27, 4 p.m.) New York, September 26. German dispatches show that the success of the war loan was due to the Government, attaching 25 per cent, of all bank balances, thus forcing depositors to subscribe. German merchants were also forced to liquidate debts by investment in the war loan, and creditors were notified that if they did not agree the firms would discontinue business with them, They oven notified creditors in Switzerland that money owing to thorn would bo invested in. the war loan.
