Y.M.C.A. WORK AT AWAPUNI
' MARQUEE .WELL PATRONISED. Tlio Wellington Y.M.C.A. marquee at tho Tccenfc camp at Awapuni, Palmerston North, was very well patronised by the members of tlio Expeditionary Force. In all, 7930 letters were written by men who availed themselves of tho conveniences provided in tho marriiico for letter-writing; 18 concerts were held, tho total attendance being 6700; on two evenings tlio order on tlio programme was boxing, when llfjO attended. Fourteen religious meetings were held, 2930 attending; nearly 2000 magazines, etc., woro pliicod upon tho tables rtr distributed round Hie tents, special euro being taken that tlio guard-room and hospital were supplied, The grand total of the attendance:! reached 35,100. Mr. Edward M. Ryan,- who was in charge, and returned yeßterday, says that bo bit it jiovm- bad a bolter lot of men to doal with. .
