TOTAL OF £2000. Writing to the Rev. Canon Garland,' secretary of tie Bible-in-State-Schools* ' League, under date September 16,' the Hon. Jas. Allen, Minister of Defence, says:— "I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of even date forwarding further cheque for £500 from the Bib!e-in-State-Schools' League towards the cost , of. equipping the field ambulance accompanying the Expeditionary Force, making a total of £2000 now contributed by ; the league for this purpose. Will you please accept yourself and convey to the members of the'league the wannest preciation of the- Government of this .further proof of their -patriotic spirit."
