NECESSITY OF STRICT RETICENCE. , The following noticohas been received °y His Excellency the Governor from the Admiralty:— • "TJ}° , att(3n tion of officers-in-command is called to tho necessity of strict roticonce in all matters relating to the movements and operations against the * eet. Interviews and letters from the fleet are appearing in the Press, giving information which should not be made public, and it appears from private telegrams correctly addressed to ships at their base that information on tlus point must have been conveyed in letters from these ship B . Such 'lapses in secrecy may have serious- effects on public interests*, and as they cannot always be controlled by censorship, the patriotic co-operation of all ranks should bo invited." His Excellency hopes that this reQuest will be strictly adhered to.
