LIVE STOCK SALES. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, Wellington, rcpoTt having held their monthly sale at tho Otaki yards on Tuesday, when jjood yardings of sheep ond heavy yardings of cattle came forward. There was spirited bidding right through. There was.an exceptionally keen demand for eheep, cepecialy so for hoggets. We had some- very nice pens of woolly hoggets to offer, and these brought up to 18s. lid. In cattlo the strongest demand was for etcers. The prices recorded were right through in favour of sellers. Tho principal sales were:—Woolly hoggets, 15s. 2d., 18s. 2d.. 18s. U.. 18s. lid.; cattle, mixed yearlings, £i 23. to £2 Js. 6d.; woanera, 20s. to £1 11s. j 2.\ to 3-year Et«ers, £1 11s. to £6; store cows, £5.105. to £4 10s.; light fat cows (good' inquiry), £7 to £7 16e.; empty heifers, good, £5 to £6; me- , dium, £3 16s. A large entry of dairy heifers came forward, and bidding for this .clase of stock wa,s rather incilnodi to drag. Sales •were effected at from £4 to £6 18s. Bulls, £6. The. Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report:—At ApiW on Tuesday we had a fair yarding of .sheep and cattle and have to report a good clearance at satisfactory prices t— Sheep: Medium hoggets, Ms.; good -wether hogeets, 16s. 6d.; good ewe hogtrets, 16s. to 17s. Cattle: Kixed yearlings, £2 2s. 6d., £2 15s. 6d., to £2 19s. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Limited, report on their Woodville sale, held on Monday:—We had a good yarding of both eheep and cattle. There was an all-round improvement for all classes of stock, and we have to report a very satisfactory clearance at better values:—Fat ewes. 20s. 6d.; good hoggets, 17s.
