Kau a te Eangi, residing at Ketemarao Pa, Normanby, died on Sunday morning, the reeult of ptomaine poisoning. Hβ had ' eaten crayfish. At tho inquest on Tuesday Dr. MacDiarmid stated that ptomaine germs developed very quickly in hot weather, and it was dangerous to partake- of'shell fish unless they-were perfectly, fresh. Crayfish and mussels were particularly liable to be affected. Hβ urged the Natives to be very careful. He gaye evidence that the cause of death was ptomaine poisoning. A verdict was 'returned in accordance with the medical testimony. ■' FATAL FALL THROUGH GLASS VERANDAH. Auckland, September 23.
