NOTES AND COMMENTS
[By Glbncob.l At the Wanganui Jockey Club's Spring Meeting, which opens to-day, principal interest will centre in the Guineas. There aro no Auckland three-year-olds engaged, but otherwise the licld is a representative one. Representatives of Boniform have won the last two contests and this year the South Island sire will be represented by Pari-foi-ni and Mia Cara. In view of a capital showing in the big handicap at the recent Marten meeting, Hyefctus (Hymettus—Asiatic) may start favourite. As a two-year-old some of the form shown by Hyettus was moderate, but his best performances stamped him as a .particularly brilliant gelding, and ho appears to be able to gallop a mile quite satisfactorily.. Nominations for the Masterton Racing Club's meeting close to-morrow 'light. .'...■ Weights for the Dunedin and Napier Park meetings will be declared on Monday.
