BOWLING
TOURNAMENT ARRANGEMENTS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, September 20. At a further meeting of the Council of the Dominion Bowling Association it was decided that in regard to the selection of the proposed team for Australia 'that Messrs. J. A. Kilgour (Auckland), T. Bush (Wellington), M. Barnett (Christchurch), and C. J. Payno (Dunedin) he tho Selection Committee. In regard to the annual tournament, it was \ decided that play commence on January 11, and that the programme consist of rinks, pairs, and singles matches. The following conditions will be observed: —That a rinks match be played on the sectional system, tho winners and ties in the sections to qualify for inter-sectional play. That intorsectional play be on the "sudden death" principle. That the pairs match start .on Friday morning, the Christchurch system to be adopted. That the singles championship match commence on Monday,, January 18, the Dunedin system to be adoptod, with the exception that losers shall not play losers in the fourth round. It was resolved that a hearty invitation ,bo sent .to all Australian States to sond teams to compote at tho annual tournament next January, and if possible to tour tho Dominion. On the proposal of Colonel Collins, tho secretary was instructed to write to tho Bowling Council suggesting a conference, between representatives of associations, to bo held some timo during the Australasian bowling carnival, to consider uniformity of tho laws of the game, and other matters of interest to bowlers.
