THE STH REGIMENT . -TRAINING THE RESERVES.' A successful battalion parade of the 6th (Wellington) Regiment, was held on Saturday. A, B, and C Companies paraded at the Garrison Hall, and membors of DG'ompany at Johnsonvilld and Lower Hutt. Tho General Training . Section reserves, who . havo been called up to complote ,tho - strength of the regiment, and to fill vacancies caused by the departure of many members of the regiment with the Expeditionary Force to Samba, attended in good hum 7 bers. Tho drafting of tho how composition took somo time, and tho Welt ington section then performed a satisfactory route march, and .went through sufficient training to enable the new mon to work well with other Territorials ."Uniforms have not been supplied yet to all tho General Training Section, so that a number of them paraded in mufti. ■•'.... < . Tho following temporary promotions have been made in "A" Company:—Sergeant N. Amies to bo Acting Q.M.S., Privates C. C. Miles, P. J. O'Connor, A. C; Beaumont, — Stauyon, Wilkes, W. A. Holmes, and E. On Saturday morning tho Hon. JVC. W.' Aitken, as Chief of the Highland Society of Wellington, handed to the Mayor a cheque for £51 13s. td. r for tho'local distress fund, tlio amount being that realised by tho concert recently given by the society. The Mayor expressed his r.ppreciatioh of tho handsome contribution made by the society and raid tho concert had materially assisted in promoting a ' strong feeling of patriotism in tho community..
