CIVIC AFFAIRS
MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL. The fortnightly meeting of tho Wollington City Council was hold on Thursday. Tberenrere present: The Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke), Councillors R. Fletchor, J. E. Fitzgerald, T. C. A. Hislop, R. A. Wright, J. Fuller, L. M'Kenzie, W. J. Thompson, M. M. F. Luckie, J. Godber, H. Buddie, G. Frost, W. H. P. Barber, A.. R. Atkinson, and A. H. Hindmarsh. The Public Health Committee reported that they had given instructions to the officers to see that a cortain person who. on account' of his ago and habits, was not fit to handle milk, wns presented from selling milk in future. It was also decided that the request of the ■Wellington Licensed Milk Vendors' Association to bo supplied with a complete list of all registered dairies and milkshops in the Wellington district should be acceded to. Tho lowest tender, that of Mr. J, O'DonneU, was accepted for tho construction of tho road between the Hutt and Waiwetu Bridges. It was decided that the public sewersat Mariri Road and Tavistock Road' should bo extended to provide for the drainage of additional houses, at estimated costs of £109 and £110 respectively.
