OBITUARY
TWO EARLY COLONISTS,
The death took place at FeiWing on Thursday of .Mrs. Josliahnn. O'Connoi, widow of the lato Mr. Andrew O'Connor, a pioneer of the first settlement in liangiwahia. Mrs. O'Connor,' who was nbout 80 years of age, was a native of County Limerick. She and her husband and family came but to New Zealand 37 years ago, residing first on'fiie West Coast of the South Island for two years, then spending eight years at Wanganui, and finally, in 189G, taking up a section in Rangiwa'hia. Her husband waa the first man to take- sheep into the RangiwaMa country, and he took the first two flocks from Feilding. Mrs. O'Connor is survived by three sons nnd one daughter—Messrs. William, John, and Miohael O'Connor (the latter two being residents of Feilding), and Mrs William Dclaney (Ohakune). The death occurred at Pa-lmereton North on Tuesday of Mrs. H. J. Lloyd, who with her husband, was one of the early settlers of ' Palmerston North. The deceased lady was born in London 75 years ago and came to the Dominion in 1877, settling in Palmereton North three years Inter. She is survived by four children—Messrs. Gordon Lloyd (Dannevirke) and Walter B. Lloyd (Auckland), Mrs. S. Baker and Miss G. Lloyd, of Auckland.
