TO-DAY'S INTERNATIONAL MATCH. Great interest is being taken in the international baseball match which is to be played to-day on the Basin. Reserve. A team of New ZeaInnders will be opposed by a team of American players resident in the' Dominion. This will be the first international baseball game played in New Zealand, and judging by the standing which baseball enjoys- in America to-day's spectacle should be worth witnessing. ■ The whole proceeds will bo paid ovqr to the Patriotic Fund. The match will be opened nt 2.30 p.m., when His Excellency the Governor will pitch tho first ball, which will'afterwards'be sold by auction for the benefit of tho fund. A band will provide musio during tho same. Baseball has become very popular lately, and has fine prospects for success in .Now Zealand. Those who have never seen it will probably be astonished at the excitement tihafr attends this "glorified rounders," and -at tho skill of the players The colours to be worn are Americans, white, and the local team black...
