DRASTIC ACTION IN NEW SOUTH WALES. GOVERNMENT SEIZES SUPPLIES FOR THE MILLERS. Sydney, September 17. Numbers of firms holding farmers' wheat have declined to fill orders at the price fixed by the Commission, as being below their clients' Important Government action is anticipated to-day in connection with large stocks of wheat held in Sydney. Melbourne, September 17. Giving evidence before the Commodities Commission, prominent wheat buyers said that the general opinion was that the price fixed in Sydney was absurd. The local wheat market is paralysed, sellers refusing -Is. lOd. SEIZURE OF 140,000 BAGS ORDERED. (Rec. September 17, 10.40' p.m.) Sydney, September 17. A deputation of millers advised Mr. D. B. Hall, Minister of Justice, that they were unable to purchase wheat at tho price fixed. The Executive Council has issued a proclamation authorising tho seizure of 140,000 bags lying in Darling Harbour )n order to nuoply millers ft D the. standard wico.
