A MAYORAL STATEMENT. Tho Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) is calling a meeting of the Distress and Unemployment Committee for' 3 p.m. tomorrow. On the subject of distress the Mayor stated yesterday that there had been applications for relief \ received, but none wero of an abnormal character, and so far no money had been paid out from the fund.
