TWO THOUSAND REFUGEES FOR AUSTRALIA (Eeo. September 16, 1.30 a.m.) Sydney, September 15. Mr. Holinan, the Premier, lias announced that the Government is willing to accede to the- 'request of the Imperial authorities to find relief for two thousand women refugees from Belgium and the North of France, who are mostly the widows of men who have fallen iu the war. The Government proposes that their employees shall contribute ten percontum of the salaries of over £200 per annum to provide for the employment .of the inert Uisnlaced during the war.
