SCIENCE CONGRESS
LECTUBE ON EXPLOSIONS. Professor H. B. Dixon, of Manchester, a past president of the Chemical Society, and a former member of the Royal Commission on the explosion of coal dust in mines, will deliver an address on Thursday evening next (if his services to the Government in connection with the mine disaster at Huntly will allow) in the Concert Chamber, Town Hall, on "Gas Explosions," a subject upon which he is Great Britain's pre-eminent authority. Professor Dixon's investigations in connection with this subject extend over more than thirty years. The lecture will.be illustrated by original photographs and experiments, all of which are of great beauty and interest.
