The boys got down to their work in good style, and the result was an excellent game of football. At the outset the A's attacked strongly, and'it was-at once evident that they were the superior team. On the' other hand, however, the more the A's attacked the better the B's defended. Right through the-game both sides played pretty football, and at times the footwork indulged in was worthy of senior teams. At the end of forty-five minutes, when the whistle blew for time, neither side had scored. Mr. F. Bowles was referee. Fifth Division Boys. At the conclusion of the above mattfh the Fifth Division represntatives took the field. This time, however, each side scored a goal. .It was a hard game, played in the best of spirit, and at times the seniors could have' learned' many lessons from the lads' play. During the ripening stages the game was of an oven character, both sides attacking and defending alternately. Then the B's opened out and O'Leary, securing the ball in a good position, sent it into the net'with a good shot. This reverse appeared to put more life into the A's, and they attacked 'strongly, only to bo hurlded back by the B's. Patience was rewarded, however, and a few minutes before half-time Mooney was enabled,to score the equalising goal. Good football was witnessed throughout the second half. Both, nvies made
strenuous efforts to obtain the lead, but without result, and the game ended as indicated. Mr. Astill was Referee.
