SPOTS ON THE SUN

DR. HECTOR'S OBSERVATIONS. Dr. Hector, of the Lower Hutt (president of tbe Philosophical Society), informed us yesterday that he had detected two largo spots on the sun. One of them, ho states, is the spot" which disappeared on August 26 last, and was only redetected yesterday. The other, a large new one, situated farther away .from the Equator, was discovered by Dr. Hector 011 Wednesday last.
