A carnival was held at Waiknnao yesterday for tho purpose of raising hinds for patriotic purposes. Despite a large counter-attraction at Levin, which drew a largo number of visitors from Otnki, tho attendance was satisfactory, and good business was dona at the various stalls, etc. It is estimated that £100 will bo raised by tho gathering.
