An incident which had a decidedly humorous side is related at the expense of a well-known carrier; states the "Poverty Say Herald." Recently a fox terrier died, and the- borough .authorities entrusted the removal of the carcass to the carrier. Being busy at the time, lie placed the body of the dog in ono of Jus oarts for the time being. In the- meantime a local tradesman wanted to bring something from the wharf, and he commandeered tlio cart in question, saying he would not be long. _ "Well, don't be. long," said the carrier, "for I have some meat there to deliver to the train." Thinking he was doing the carrier a good turn tho tradesman drove to the railway station and delivered the sugar bag containing the "meat" in the guard's van.
