Staples and Co., Ltd., and many parishioners from the Thorndon parish. The chief niouraers were Mr. Martin Kennody (uncle of the de« coasod) and Messrs. Cecil and Kennedy, Gasquoino (sons). Dr. Cameron, medical adviser to the Government at Niue, in the Cook Islands, was a passenger for Niue. by, tho' ketch Kereru, which sailed from Auckland on Thursday morning. Ho is accompanied by Mrs. Cameron. . Mr. Alfred Richmond, solicitor, Feild-. ing, died at Napior on Friday, where ho had gone for the good of his health. Mr. Richmond took a great interest in borough matters, and was a member of the council during many years. Mr. William Ralph Brown, managing clerk at Messrs. Burnett, M'Beth, and Hogg's office, Wanganui, was admitted ' as a solicitor of tho Supreme Court at Wanganui on Friday,' on tho motion of Mr. A. F. Hogg. Councillor Geo. Miss Gaskell, captain of the English ladies' hockey team, received word on Saturday of the serious illness of her fathor.
