LABOUR LEADER'S APPEAL. . By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, September 4. Mr, Fisher has issued a iinal appeal to the electors. He says he does not fear that, even in the darkest hour that Fate may have in store for us, Australia will fail to do her dutj by the Empire with courage and resolution worthy of the race. The record of the Labour Party, was its best claim as. to its fitness to govern the country during this great crisis. He believes that in the dark hour, when the existence of tlie Empire and of the Commonwealth hangs in the balance, a hold constructive polioy alone will save Australia from industrial collapse. Mr. Cook's final appeal denies any intention to reduce wages. , He says that the nest Parliament will be largely a war Parliament. All, its energies will be required to prosecute the war successfully, and there will bo no time for party wrangling. ANOTHER LIBEL ACTION. (Rec. September 4, 8.30 p.m.) Sydney, September 4. The Rbv. Yarrington, the Liberal candidate for the Cook Federal constituency, has\issued a writ against _ Mr. Catts, the Labour candidate, claiming £3000 damages in respect of an alleged libel contained in a pamphlet entitled "Abuse of Religion."
