■ '-The following resolution was passed by the City Council last night:—"ln consideration of the Wellington City Council giving its consent to tho closing of the old road at Day's Bay, through tho land purchased by the corporation, and vesting tho now road in the Hutt County, tho Hutt County agrees _ to? havo a clause inserted in the 'Washingup' Bill of this session vesting jn tho; corporation the foreshore at Day's Bay, i lying generally to the seaward of tho land purchased by the corporation, sub-, ject to the condition that the County-, shall have the right to remove from th»; foreshore such gravel as is required, for tho repairing and reconstruction of, the County's roads in Day's Bay only, provided that such gravel shall not bo taken below high-water mark."
