It was announced yesterday that the Hiitt Ladies' Committee had collected the sum of £291 lie. 4d. for the Lady Liverpool Fund. For the Local Relief Fund. Tho Poneke Football Club held its annual dance in' St. Peter's School Room last evening, and tlie deserving object to which tho proceeds are to bo devoted, the local relief fund, will doubtless benefit to quite a satisfactory amount, judging from the. number or dancers who were pr.esent. Flags were very much in .evidence as regards decorations, numbers having been hung from tho ceiling, as . well as being draped all round the .walls, and needless to- eay the Union Jack and the Now Zealand flag in conjunction occupied the most conspicuous position in the room. The chaporones were: Mrs. Dawson, Mrs. Elliott, and Mrs. Garditer. The committee wore: Mrs. Griffiths, Mrs. I'avitt, Miss Hickey, Miss Lang, Miss Tilyard, Miss M'lnernoy, Miss'Q. Towards the end of the evening an auction was held and the copy realised tho sum of one shilling and a penny, a decided increase in Value.
