TURKEY EXPECTED TO DECLARE WAR ON GREECE
ALLIES WILL TREAT IT, AS -HOSTILE.
(Rec. September 1, 5.25 p.m.)' London, 'August 31. The "Daily Telegraph" says that Turkey may declare war at any moment, and action by her is only a matter of a few dayß, or possibly of hours. All tbe efforts of the Triple Entente to maintain Turkey's neutrality have failed. The British Embassy at Constantinople admits that the situation is gravo. The Military Party, which is dominant in Constantinople, has reached: the conclusion that the present is the best time to secure the restoration of Macedonia and the Aegean Islands. Turkey counts on the Balkan States quarrelling amongst themselves while Turkey fights Greece. Turkey's declaration of war against Greece will be regarded as bostilo by the Entente, which will send a fleet to dispose of the Turkiuh and- German ships. According to the "Daily Telegraph," the British Government has warned Turkey plainly, that by, starting a campaign this time she signs her own death! warrant.
