RUSSIANS INVESTING PRUSSIAN FORTRESSES
NOW MARCHING UPON DANZIG GREAT BATTLE WITH AUSTRIANS IN PROGRESS i i , . London, 'August 28. It is reported from Rome that the Russians are marching upon Danzig, the capital and principal fortress of West Prussia, which lies on the Baltic eighty miles south-west of Konigsberg. ■The Russians- havo occupied Tilsit, a town of 32,000 inhabitants, 33 miles , north of Instorburg. Tho garrison and inhabitants fled. Much spoil was captured. ALSATIAN ARMY HURRIED EASTWAEDS. (Reo. August 30, 5.5 p.m.) St. Petersburg, August 20. The Russians are approaching Konigsborg, the principal fortress of East Prussia, and havo dislodged garrison outposts.
