DISTRICT BRANCH. A meeting of the Wellington Branch of the Now Zealand Education Institute was held last night, Mr. J. B. Hopkirk presiding over an attendance of about 30 members. .. < v Mr. J. Tamblyn moved: "That the Senate of the New Zealand University bo asked.to amend the honours course so: as to include education." Tho motion was seconded' by Mise Myors, ; -.and after disciission..was carried' unanimously. • _ ;' ■ • Mr. Tamblyn also moved: "That thoSenateof the Now Zealand University be asked to so alter tho oftho Doctorate of Literature as to allow the presentation of a thesis embodying the'results of original research in educational practice or literature." ■ • "Mr.'- J.. C. Webb seconded tho motion, wliicli-was carried by a large majority.'
