Due at Wellington. from southern ports this morning, the Huddart-Parkcr steamer Victoria, which lias been engaged in the New Zealand coastal trade for some considerable time, will proceod on to northern porta and Sydney for the pmpose of undergoing overhaul and survey at the lastmentioned port. She is due back at Auckland ahout October 11. The intercolonial liner Elvorina, which is due at Auckland from Sydney on Sunday next, will mako one trip down the coast, to Dunodiu and back in place of the Victoria. The Wcstralio, will arrive at Auckland from Sydney on Sunday, September 13, and will leave the northern port for Dunedin on. Tuesday, September 15. MESS TABLE GOSSIP. • Captain Morrisby, late of E.M.S. Niagara, who has been ashore on sick leave, ■ was a. passenger from Sydney to Wellington by the Manuka, yesterday. Captain Edwin, late of the Monowai, is now in command of the Maheno. The Mokoia will land SEO .tons of northern cargo at Wellington before proceeding on. to southern ports to-morrow afternoon. A cablegram has been received stating that the P. and S. chartered steamer Hurunui, en route from Australian, ports to London and Liverpool, arrived at Durben ; on, August 19. The local .office of the HuddartrParker Company announce that the Uliniaroa will be dispatched from Wellington for Hydncy on Friday, September 4; Captain Bollone, of tho Government steamer Hinomoa, has advteed the Marine Department that the vessel will leave Auckland early this morning in continuation of her inspection of northerm lighthouses. Coal will be brought from Greymouth, to Petone by the steamer Alexander tomorrow. When dischargo fa completed she will bo taken up on the Patent Slip for cleaning and painting. Departure will bo taken for Nelson and West Coast ports oh Monday next. It is* erpected that' discharge of the In•vertay's New York cargo will'be completed in time for her to leave Wellington for Lyttelton on Saturday. An arrival at Auckland from London, via Durban, nt 8.65 a.m. yesterday was the New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Kaikoura. At 8.30 a.m. yesterday the Union Company's collier Kanna arrived at New Plymouth from Newcastle. Subsequently the vessel will proceed to Picton and Wellington. Tho Union Company's ■ Manuka left Sydney at 2 p.m. on Saturday last, and experienced fine weather throughout the trip. Tho vessel arrival here at noon yesterday, and berthed at the Queen's Wharf 170. 6 to land 1296 tons of cargo before proceeding on to Lyttelton this afternoon.
