ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES

AN INQUEST ADJOURNED. An inquest was opened by Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., yesterday afternoon into the death of Alice M'Carthy, a married woman who died suddenly at her residence about mid-day on Sunday. Evidence was given by Dr. Fyffe, who stated that in his. opinion death ,was duo to a largo quantity of air in tho veins. The inquest was adjourned pending further medical evidence The condition of the little girl, Irene Davis,, who was knocked down by a tramcar at Kilbirnie on Monday afternoon, suffering severe injuries, was reported from the Hospital last niglft to be still, very serious. Tho arm of tho little girl was so sovo.-ely injured that it had to ho amputated yesterday.
